Dolores Sharpe, African-American Female Nassau County Police Officer, Arraigned on Criminal Charges
On January 9, Dolores Sharpe ― an African-American woman and a veteran of the Nassau County Police Department ― was arraigned following false criminal charges of resisting arrest filed by her fellow officers. These charges arose from a November 29, 2013 incident where Officer Sharpe was wrongfully treated, falsely arrested and abused at the hands of Officers Charles L. Volpe and Victor J. Gladitz.
