On June 12, Frederick K. Brewington held a press conference at his office to announce the filing of petition with the New York State Commissioner of Education in Albany, charging the Hempstead School District, the district clerk and Betty Cross in her capacity as a school board trustee and candidate with election fraud, abuse of absentee ballots and other improprieties, which impacted the recent school board election, which took place on May 20.

Perrim Anderson Post Trial Decision
Following the second jury trial on this excessive force case, in which a jury awarded the plaintiff Perrim Anderson ("Anderson") compensantory damages of $20,000 and punitive damages of $75,000 against defendant Vincent Aparicio (“Aparicio”), and returned a verdict in favor of defendant Maria McAuley (“McAuley”), both Anderson and Aparicio have filed posttrial motions seeking judgment as a matter of law or a new trial pursuant to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (“Rules”) 50 and 59.

Brooklyn Federal Jury Awards Osama Saleh, a Yemeni-American, $4.7 Million in Discrimination Case
Osama Saleh, a client of Frederick K. Brewington, was recently awarded $4.7 million against his former employer. The jury found that Mr. Saleh constantly faced discrimination, verbal and physical abuse and intimidation at the place where he worked and his supervisor, who was well aware of Mr. Saleh’s complaints, failed to take any disciplinary action against Mr. Saleh’s co-worker.
